Approve the request if either company emails you, and the domain usually moves within 5 to 7 days. If DNSSEC is on, ask your new registrar how it wants it handled, or switch it off before the transfer as described in the nameserver guide.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 3: Unlock the domain<\/h3>\n<p>In the current registrar&#8217;s control panel, find the domain and switch <strong>Registrar Lock<\/strong> or <strong>Transfer Lock<\/strong> off. Re-run the whois command above after a few minutes. <code class=\"\" data-line=\"\">clientTransferProhibited<\/code> should be gone. Turn off any domain privacy service only if the new registrar tells you to; it isn&#8217;t required by default. Under ICANN rules the registrar must provide it within five calendar days of your request, and many do it instantly by email or on screen.
